Semarang, MMI — Following the announcement of the Seleksi Nasional Berdasarkan Tes (SNBT) results, various preparations for welcoming new students have begun across universities.
One of these initiatives was carried out by the Student Executive Board of the Faculty of Languages and Arts (BEM FBS), which officially opened the recruitment of the 2026 OSPEK committee as an initial step in welcoming prospective students through the independent admission pathway.
The open recruitment is intended for active students of the Faculty of Languages and Arts who are interested in participating in the new student orientation committee. Registration is conducted online through forms provided by BEM FBS and includes several committee divisions.
These preparations are being carried out alongside the upcoming independent admission process, which is expected to bring many new students into the Faculty of Languages and Arts environment.
By forming the committee early, BEM FBS hopes that the 2026 OSPEK program can be organized more thoroughly, systematically, and provide a positive experience for incoming students.

The Chairperson of BEM FBS, Sabil AS, stated that the committee recruitment is not only a preparation stage for the faculty’s annual event, but also an opportunity for students to develop organizational and teamwork skills.
“We hope to form a committee that is ready to collaborate and capable of creating a welcoming, educational, and memorable orientation experience for new students,” she said.
Sabil also explained that the preparations and recruitment process need to be conducted earlier so that the committee members have sufficient time to understand the characteristics and needs of incoming students.
In addition, the committee must prepare the orientation concept as well as materials introducing the faculty, study programs, and academic environment in a more comprehensive way.
According to her, the large number of prospective students entering FBS compared to other faculties has become a motivation for the committee to create a more engaging and unique orientation experience.
She added that the preparation process requires significant effort and careful planning in order to make the 2026 OSPEK program stand out and leave a positive impression on new students.
The recruitment program has also attracted considerable enthusiasm from active FBS students, particularly those interested in gaining organizational experience and contributing directly to the welcoming process for incoming students.
Committee activities are considered an opportunity for students to improve communication skills, teamwork, and interdepartmental collaboration within the faculty environment.
Through these early preparations, BEM FBS aims to create an orientation program that is not only informative, but also supportive in helping new students adapt to academic and social life within the Faculty of Languages and Arts.
The organization also hopes that OSPEK 2026 will become a meaningful introduction for incoming students as they begin their university journey at UNNES.
