Tourist attractions certainly have many types, such as natural attractions, education, entertainment, and so on. Not infrequently also various tourist attractions also combine several aspects or types into one place or one location.

On Thursday (30/05), students from UPN “Veteran” East Java again visited Rumah Pintar Juanda Cendekia which is one of the entertainment-based educational tourist attractions after visiting on the previous Wednesday (15/05).

Rumah Pintar Juanda Cendekia is an educational place as well as a playground for children who are at the elementary school level and also kindergarten. Rumah Pintar Juanda Cendekia is located on Jl. Raya Bandara Juanda, Kepuh, Betro, Kec. Sedati, Sidoarjo Regency, East Java 61253.

The beginning of the Rumah Pintar was built to entertain children who were victims of the Aceh Tsunami disaster in 2004. Starting from using smart motorbikes, smart cars, smart boats, to becoming a Rumah Pintar. From 2005 to 2014, Rumah Pintar was able to attract people to visit.

But unfortunately, starting in 2014, visitors to the Rumah Pintar Juanda Cendekia began to decline due to the lack of the Rumah Pintar in managing the building, lack of skills to welcome visitors, and also the lack of skills of the Rumah Pintar in managing management.

Strategy Development at Rumah Pintar Juanda Cendekia can be seen from their development, which initially used a motorcycle at one point and was only in Aceh, began to develop by changing to a car, where the use of this strategy is more adequate in function to protect toys and books from uncertain weather.

Seeing children who felt entertained and able to forget their deep sadness, the smart car finally changed from traveling to settling with the construction of Rumah Pintar in 2014.

The increasing interest of children made the reason for the construction of Rumah Pintar. At the beginning of the construction of the Rumah Pintar did not have the right education about marketing or promotion so that the existence of the smart house had declined in 2014. It took 5 years to realize the importance of marketing that can increase public interest again.

In 2019, education began to be applied about strategies to promote smart homes, the strategies used are quite unique and many, in an era that is all digital and online smart homes choose strategies by improving the internal management of Rumah Pintar, conducting comparative studies to Singasari, Malang, implementing education, improving the Rumah Pintar building, adding facilities, collaborating with Puspenerbal (Naval Aviation Center) Juanda.

The strategy begins with improving the internal part of Rumah Pintar in the management section, namely teaching members how to respond to visitors. Previously, Rumah Pintar received criticism about their building which was not feasible enough so the building was repaired, with the use of bright and attractive colors.

In addition, the addition of many activities is also a factor in attracting people to visit. There are several useful, fun activities such as feeding animals, gymnastics, coloring, and also outbound spots. The existing facilities are center rooms which are divided according to the activities, there are 5 centers.

  1. The book center is a place to read books with a large selection of books of various ages;
  2. Stage center a place to distract visitors to get back energetic;
  3. Computer center a place to show animated cartoon movies that educate;
  4. Craft center where to train sewing skills for housewives;
  5. Play center where children play as visitors.

Rumah Pintar collaborated with Juanda because the Juanda museum also experienced a decline in interest. With this gap, the Smart House cooperates with Juanda to establish mutualism.

This collaboration is a plus point because the activities provided are interesting and cool, we can see how the plane lands and takes off, observe the plane from the inside of the plane, and visit the Juanda museum. Rumah Pintar can be said to have successfully risen and triumphed from its difficult times, with the strategies implemented.

This is evidenced by the number of visitors on May 15, 2024, where the total visitors who came were approximately 1000 people a day who came from various regions. Rumah Pintar Juanda Cendekia successfully promoted to their advantage with profits many times over from the initial heyday.

After fixing everything, Rumah Pintar experienced a fairly drastic increase. Many visitors from outside come to the Smart House to see and experience the facilities provided. Most visitors who come are from East Java itself, especially the Sidoarjo, Mojokerto, and Kediri.

However, it is possible that visitors from the Jombang, Tuban, Lamongan, and Gresik areas are also among the visitors who visit the Juanda Cendekia Smart House quite often.

For the largest percentage of visitors so far is from the kindergarten with 60%. Then from elementary schools ranging from grades 1-6 with a lot of 25%. Then, for other visitors such as junior high school, high school, and college students are as much as 15%.

The biggest visitors are kindergarten children because the education provided by Rumah Pintar is provided for children. Meanwhile, visitors such as elementary school children to college students are more interested in visiting the Naval Aviation Museum located in Juanda.

The number of visitors to Rumpin itself can reach up to 10,000 visitors per month. For visitors on holidays, it can reach 1,500 to 2,000 visitors. One of the visitors who comes to Rumah Pintar Juanda Cendekia is also a regular visitor every year. This school comes at every turn of the new school year.
