Causes of Decrease in Students’ Interest in Learning
Nowadays, we see many students from elementary, junior high, and high school levels experiencing obstacles in class. These obstacles usually come from the teacher or from the students. Currently, there are many teachers who use monotonous learning methods in class and students tend not to pay attention and play.
Many teachers teach like lectures, which are considered ineffective by many people. As a result of the teachers’ methods that tend to bore students, the learning material cannot be accepted by the students and the students do not like the material of the lesson.
Many elementary, junior high, and high school students when they do not like the material will take the lesson lightly. Sometimes, due to the boring learning method of a teacher, students do not like the teacher. This phenomenon has happened a lot around us.
Not only do they not like the lesson, but students also do not like their teachers. If the teacher uses this Arabic language learning method monotonously or communicates in one direction, it will create an unconducive classroom condition. Such a learning model is certainly contrary to the demands of today’s era.
Being a teacher in developing countries should create a positive learning situation that involves students actively in finding knowledge effectively and limiting the role of teachers in supervision and evaluation. This kind of teaching quality aims to attract students’ interest in the lesson.
A teacher when developing this learning strategy must see the conditions of the students in the class, the teacher must always adjust his students, the goal is in addition to attracting students’ interest in learning, namely that the material can be conveyed to students clearly and not boring the students.
Social Media is a Solution to Improve Students’ Interest in Student Learning
In this era full of technology, a teacher is required to be a creative teacher towards his students, if in the past students followed the teacher’s learning method, then nowadays a teacher must be creative in developing learning strategies for students so that the learning process becomes effective.
This era that has developed very rapidly, is a positive thing for a teacher. Teachers can utilize this technology to increase students’ interest in learning towards students.
Teachers can use the method through media for learning. If students are bored and fed up with learning that uses one-way communication. Students can be presented with images or videos about the material. Why with images and videos? Because most students are interested in audio and visual lessons.
If you look at this era, many children prefer to open social media because in it they are able to watch visual and audio forms of the posts, with this teachers can also use this method as a modern learning strategy. Not only in class, teachers can present learning materials visually by posting the material on social media as a means of student learning at home.
Teachers can utilize social media platforms such as Tiktok, Instagram, Youtube, ETC. Why these platforms? Because according to a survey, 62% of children access the internet for social media. This very large number can be utilized by educators to make social media a means of student learning.

In conclusion, the traditional, monotonous teaching methods used by many educators today are no longer effective in engaging students. These outdated approaches often lead to boredom, lack of interest in learning, and even negative perceptions of teachers and their subjects.
To address this, teachers must adapt to the needs of modern students by creating more interactive and student-centered learning environments. One powerful way to do this is by incorporating social media into the learning process.
By using platforms like TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube, teachers can present educational content in a way that is visually appealing, accessible, and aligned with students’ interests. Utilizing social media as a learning tool can significantly increase student motivation, improve understanding, and make learning more enjoyable and relevant in today’s digital age.
